Meet Aimee,
MSW, Social Worker
Looking for a potential therapist can be almost as overwhelming as being in therapy, but I’m glad you’re taking this important first step. Life is good at throwing curveballs that aren’t easy to dodge. I can’t stop the curveballs, but I can help you navigate them so they feel less overwhelming.
As a Social Worker with over ten years of counselling experience, I have helped children, youth, and adults navigate the ups and downs of their emotions. Whether you or your child are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, self-harm, obsessive thoughts, or attention difficulties, I can tailor my therapy to fit your needs.
I pull from a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Theraplay, and play-based techniques. I have experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, not only providing gender-affirming care, but also helping parents with any questions if they are new to this world.

As a mother of two children, I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate your child’s big emotions, and I understand the guilt of wondering if we could be doing a better job. I can work with both you and your child so that we can tackle the challenges together, without judgment.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family—swimming, going to festivals and taking the kids to various activities. In the little bit of spare time I do have, I enjoy reading, writing and yoga. I also enjoy cuddling my cat, Marbles, and my dog, Pip, and love hearing about my clients’ pets.

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow.’”

We often imagine bravery to be giant acts of heroism, reserved for exceptional circumstances. But the truth is that even baby steps can be an act of bravery. Failure is part of the human experience; it takes courage to soldier on. I see courage in so many of my clients and I strive to show them how brave they truly are.
