Kathy Rolfe

Registered Psychologist

Kathy is the owner of Balance Psychological Services. She has training in counselling psychology and behaviour modification, and works with people of all ages. Kathy is also a certified Clinical Traumatologist with extensive experience in Critical Incident Stress Management and Psychological Debriefs. She is skilled in working with critical incidents, PTSD, trauma, depression, stress, anxiety and relationships. She also works with organizational health and wellness issues related to workplace stress, with a special interest in Emergency Services and Military personnel.

Kathy uses a wide range of approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). She has specialized training in Trauma, Addictions, Family Therapy and Behaviour Modification.

Kathy works from the offices in Stony Plain and Edmonton to better serve clients from both the greater Edmonton area and the Parkland County Tri Region. She has also worked i​n Edson, Whitecourt, and Onoway, and understands the complex dynamic that accompanies smaller towns - and how this affects mental health related concerns.

Kathy is an associate professor with Simon Fraser University teaching Organizational Structure and Stigma Reduction since 2018.

Why me?

I am dedicated to creating a climate that is safe, comfortable, and collaborative for my clients as they deal with their life circumstances.

I have extensive experience with addiction disorders and famlies affected by addiction. This includes addiction group facilitation, and assisting with the transition from residential treatment facilities programs  to returning home. I am  also well versed in Codependency in the contexts of addiction and relationship counselling.
