Meet Kiersten
MACP., Registered Provisional Psychologist

My passion for mental health was fostered during my teaching career when I realized I wanted to help the students and staff I worked with on a deeper level. I fully believe that when people are given the necessary time and space to understand what is happening within their mind and body, remarkable change will occur. When I'm not in the office, you can find me snuggling on the couch with my pups, enjoying quality time with my friends and family over summer bonfires, watching Modern Family, or planning mountain trips with my horse.

In my career, I have had the opportunity to assist teens, adults, and First Responders who have suffered from adverse traumatic events to regain their identity, heal past hurts, and discover the possibilities of their future. I utilize an integrated framework, which draws from attachment, psychodynamic, gestalt, trauma-processing, and cognitive behavioural therapies. I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I allow my clients' space to safely explore their realities while deepening the conversation to help provide insight into underlying negative core beliefs. I will encourage you to take an active role with me as we navigate a new path where you feel free, confident and capable moving forward.

Meet Tucker
Therapy Dog In-Training

Tucker is a 1-year-old Leonberger who is beginning his role as my therapy assistant. He is continuing his training this fall and winter to serve our clients better. One of the most wonderful things about Tucker is his ability to bring a grounded presence into the room, but do not worry, he still provides a good amount of comedic relief!

Some of Tucker's favourite things include walks along the river, wiener roasts, playing fetch, and snuggling on the couch.

Tucker is in the office 2-3 days per week to help continue his training. If you have any questions about Tucker, please feel free to email us!

Favourite Quote

"Life is a journey and not a destination" - Lynn H. Hough

This quote resonates with me because of the many experiences I have had as an imperfect individual. In a world where we constantly search for more, I have learned to enjoy the process that is life and accept the ways in which it challenges me but also rewards me.
