MACP., Registered Provisional Psychologist
Welcome! The decision to start therapy can be scary and overwhelming, but I promise, it is one of the best gifts you could ever give yourself. I'm Jessica, a mother to three busy boys, including twins, and a big sports fan. You'll often find me cheering on my little athletes or favourite sports teams, in nature, working out, reading, or having fun with friends and family.
Over the last 12 years, I have supported individuals and couples as they navigate life's varying experiences and challenges. I support clients who may be struggling to cope with the everyday stressors of life or who are struggling with life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, operational stress, or unresolved trauma. I work primarily with adults (individuals and couples) and specialize in therapy for first responder, public safety personnel, perinatal (pregnancy/postpartum), and healthcare/frontline populations.
I have specialized training in Operational Stress Injuries; Perinatal Mood Disorders; Birth Trauma; Pregnancy and Infant Loss; Anxiety Disorders; Mood Disorders; Substance Use Disorders; Trauma Processing, including EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART); and Couples Counselling (Gottman Method).
If you’re struggling to enjoy life, feeling stuck, or like you’re just surviving, I would be honoured to support you on your healing journey.
“When we move towards what is right, what is right moves towards us.”
Many of us have learned to abandon ourselves in order to please others. We often believe that doing things for ourselves is “selfish.” This creates patterns of people-pleasing and self-abandonment that rob us of the joy that life has to offer; leaving us feeling unfulfilled, and emotionally dysregulated. Our emotions are information, guiding us towards the people and things that are right for us, showing us the path that we are meant to walk along. When we honour our own feelings and needs, we move towards a place of alignment that brings peace, grounding, and continues to attract more of what is right.
