Meet Claire
BSW, MC, Registered Social Worker

My journey into mental health began in my adolescence, as I struggled with depression and anxiety but was unable to comprehend nor define what was happening to me. I felt alone and at a loss, but with therapy I was able to regain a sense of self and control in my life, as well as experience hope and joy again.

From a person-centred and culturally sensitive perspective, I present my genuine self to the therapeutic relationship wholeheartedly.

I am currently working towards becoming a Registered Psychologist, but with over a decade of experience as a healthcare Social Worker at an inner-city hospital, I have collaborated closely with high-risk populations, supporting individuals who face complex issues in both their physical and mental health. I have direct experience working in trauma, domestic violence, life transitions, relationship issues, as well as with anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.

My holistic approach to therapy creates a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental environment to explore and work through the issues that matter to you most. I bring a sense of authenticity and deep respect to the therapeutic space by integrating evidence-based techniques with a client-centred approach, where interventions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Trauma Informed Care.

With a strong emphasis on attachment injuries and recovery, I feel honoured to walk alongside clients' difficult transitions and help them cultivate new coping skills to become the best versions of themselves. My commitment to fostering emotional growth is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive, and I strive to empower each person on their journey towards creating lasting and meaningful change.

Outside of the office, you will find me in the sunshine and fresh air, engaging in some sort of physical activity from running to yoga, at the park with my dog Henry, eating my way through Edmonton’s food scene, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Favourite Quote

“The best way out is always through.” – Robert Frost

As human beings, we experience various challenges in life, whether it's grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, or any emotional pain—the most healing and enduring way to move forward is by gently inviting ourselves to feel and process what is happening, rather than avoiding or pushing it away. This quote brings me hope and is a constant reminder that we are resilient and insightful creatures who can work through pain by facing it with grace, compassion, care, and support.
