Meet Ghata, M.A.,
Registered Provisional Psychologist

Hello, I’m Ghata, a Registered Provisional Psychologist passionate about supporting individuals in navigating life’s challenges, healing from past experiences, and discovering inner resilience.

My approach blends evidence-based therapeutic techniques with a warm, client-centred style that emphasizes safety, connection, and collaboration. I aim to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

My journey in mental health has been shaped by experience across South Asia and Canada, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of how culture, context, and lived experiences influence well-being. This cross-cultural perspective informs my practice, helping me tailor therapy and assessments in ways that honour each client’s unique background, values, and worldview.

I specialize in psychological assessment and therapy, supporting adults and youth through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and identity-based challenges. I provide thorough, culturally responsive assessments to identify strengths, areas of growth, and guide personalized treatment planning. My therapeutic work integrates mindfulness, somatic approaches, and acceptance- and values-based techniques, helping clients connect with themselves, regulate emotions, and build meaningful coping strategies.

I also draw on integrative modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), adapting these approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. My goal is not simply to “fix” problems but to walk alongside clients, offering insight, practical tools, and support while fostering self-compassion and meaningful, lasting change.

I’m genuinely excited to be practicing in Canada as a Registered Provisional Psychologist, bringing together my international experience and local understanding to offer culturally informed, evidence-based care. I
strive to help clients uncover their strengths, navigate challenges with resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change in their lives.

Outside of work, I find grounding in mindfulness, nature, and creative expression, which mirrors the values I bring to therapy: presence, balance, and self-awareness.

If you are seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and client-centred approach to therapy or assessment, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
