Meet Barb,
MC, Mental Health Therapist

Hello! I am Barbara and I am a mental health therapist; I have a master’s in counselling/psychology from Yorkville University and have worked in the mental health field for over a decade. I have worked in roles such as behavioural therapist assistant, youth support worker, support worker and case manager.

I am a compassionate and client-focused mental health therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their inner resilience. My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach, which means I work collaboratively with clients in a non-judgmental, empathetic space that honours each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours that may be contributing to distress. I also integrate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) techniques to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and effective interpersonal skills—especially for clients dealing with intense emotions or relationship difficulties.

In addition, I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) principles to empower clients to recognize their existing resources, set meaningful goals, and move toward positive change. Whether someone is coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or life transitions, I tailor each session to meet the client where they are and support them in building a more fulfilling and balanced life.

I believe that healing happens in the context of connection, and I am deeply honoured to walk alongside my clients on their therapeutic journeys.
